LEHI, UT–(Marketwire – Mar 6, 2012) – 2GIG Technologies, the Lehi, UT-based developer of home security and home automation systems and a Principal Member of the Z-Wave Alliance, has added a new, universal, interactive application for Apple iPhones, iPads, and iPod touches that enables dealers to demonstrate how easy and intuitive the Go!Control panel is. The Go!Control Demo App allows users to use the Go!Control’s user interface to explore advanced security functionality, to control simulated lighting or HVAC systems, and to configure settings that bring the power of home automation through the integration of all these systems. It also includes a promotional video to quickly educate homeowners on what the Go!Control can deliver and to demonstrate the many valuable possibilities of home automation.

Security dealers will enjoy using this app as a sales and marketing tool to quickly familiarize homeowners with the features of the Go!Control security panel. “We believe this will be a game changer on sales calls,” notes Lance Dean, Co-Founder of 2GIG. “Once end users see how truly simple the Go!Control is and how powerful its capabilities truly are, the system sells itself.”

The new app is a standalone demo of an actual Go!Control system with associated peripherals and accessories. It shows the actual size of the Go!Control’s touch screen and allows users to navigate as if they had the panel in front of them. Sounds, alarms, and voice notifications play over the iOS device in the same fashion as they would on a panel. The Go!Control’s two physical buttons are represented, allowing immediate access to the emergency menu or home screen. Additionally, users can interact by controlling simulated devices such as opening and closing a door, opening and closing a window, locking and unlocking a door, changing set points on a thermostat, and turning on and off a lamp.

A final feature of the app is an informational page that provides instructions for the demo, basic information about 2GIG, telephone and web contact information, and a video highlighting the many benefits of the Go!Control. This video will be downloaded the first time it is viewed in the app. From that point on, the video will be always immediately available to play at anytime, even without access to a Wi-Fi or cellular data connection — perfect for sales professionals to use when away on sales calls.
